Mini Takes the States

Jersey City to Lime Rock, September 4, 2006 - A Day at the Races!

Vroom vroom up the West Side Highway. We ended up following "O Behav" all the way to Lime Rock - he knew all the back roads, and got us there in 2 hours! Just reached Lime Rock, parked in the Mini-only lot Up the spectators' hill. A little hike by itself. Waiting for the next race to begin, checking out the events brochure I bought - didn't know it was not free! Waiting in the Mini lounge / lunch area.
Lots of proud Mini owners at the Mini lounge! Now we are getting hungry, after the early 5:30am start from home. Lime Rock was holding the Volvo vintage car festival that day. One of the tents had all the vintage Jaguars. Is this the one in MOMA? Screen saver material, this, I tell you!
Races go on, with the Minis taking up the outfield. At one point, here must have been close to 200 Minis! We did not drive up all together - in fact, we ourselves got teamed up with 3 other "strangers" at 70mph, and only got to know the others in the group at our first rest stop.
